International flights to Svalbard

Since 2020, due to health and rescue preparedness on Svalbard, no permits have been granted for non-scheduled flights to/from Svalbard Airport Longyear. Following amendments to the covid-19 regulations that came into force at midnight on 1 March 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has now repealed the temporary instruction that has restricted international air traffic to/from Svalbard Airport Longyear.

This means that the Civil Aviation Authority again will consider applications for international non-scheduled flights to/from Svalbard.
