Svalbard lufthavn, Longyear – tillatelse/dispensasjon for internasjonale charterflyginger vil ikke bli gitt inntil videre

Samferdselsdepartementet besluttet 20. september 2017 å endre status for Svalbard lufthavn, Longyear fra internasjonal landingsplass til nasjonal landingsplass. Endringen hadde virkning fra 1. oktober 2017. Endringen førte til at lufthavna som en hovedregel ikke lenger kunne ta imot internasjonale flyginger.

Svalbard Airport, Longyear – permission/dispensation for international charter flights revoked until further notice

On 20 September 2017, the Ministry of Transport decided to change the status of Svalbard Airport, Longyear from international to national, effective 1 October 2017. The consequence, as the main rule, was that the airport could no longer accommodate international flights.

Temporary accommodation measures due to COVID-19 for non-NAT DLM compliant aircraft in the NAT airspace

Ref. ICAO State Letter EUR/NAT 20-0187.TEC (NAE/SUL) and EUR/NAT 20-0296.TEC (NAE/CUP). In accordance with this ICAO State letter there is agreement to allow a short term accommodation of non-DLM compliant aircraft in the area of NAT DLM applicability.

Civil Aviation Authority – Norway changes the licence reference numbers. To secure the licence holder’s privacy, CAA- Norway replaces the 11 digits from the social security number with a randomly generated number.

Introduction of new exam scheme for ATPL/CPL/IR/EIR/CB-IR

CAA Norway introduces a new examination scheme for conducting the theoretical exam for ATPL, CPL, IR, EIR and CB-IR. From 16 March 2020, the theoretical examination will be conducted electronically at some of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's traffic stations. With the introduction of the new scheme, the current scheme of exams in Sandefjord, Bardufoss and Bodø will end.

Weather minima requirements when approving SET-IMC operations in Norway

In order to carry out commercial air transport with single engine turbine aircraft under instrument flight conditions or at night (SET-IMC), a special approval is required from the Competent Authority. The requirement for such a SET-IMC approval follows the provisions of Regulation (EU) No 965/2012, Annex V, Subpart L (SPA.SET-IMC).
