Passengers who need assistance

People with disabilities or reduced mobility are entitled to assistance on the ground, without being charged extra by airlines or airports, when travelling within the EU/EEA area. The same applies in the USA, but not necessarily in other countries outside Europe. Read more about what help you can receive, or how to complain if you are dissatisfied with what has happened during your journey.

Assistance at the airport
If you are disabled or suffer from reduced mobility and need assistance when travelling by air, you have a number of rights
Assistance during the flight
During the flight itself you are only entitled to limited assistance
When should you apply for assistance?
Here you will find information about when you should apply for assistance
Refusing travel is forbidden
Passengers cannot be refused air travel because of a disability or reduced mobility, unless this has to be done in order to satisfy safety requirements
Systems for boarding
All airports are required to have suitable systems for lifting people with disabilities or reduced mobility
