Drones over 25 kg
If the drone weighs more than 25 kg you must apply for operational autorisation from CAA – Norway.
Other distance limitations
Other distance limitations may apply if you pass the A2 exam and fly a drone with a C2 class mark.
Donepilots below 16 years of age
Under 16 years old? You can fly under the supervision of a pilot that is 16 years or older. You can also fly in approved model clubs.
Illegal drone operations
Illegal drone operations can be punished with fines or prison and may lead to confiscation of your drone.

Fly safely and responsibly
- Register and take the exam at flydrone.no.
- Keep your drone in sight at all times.
- Don’t fly the drone within safety zones surrounding airports and never fly near accident areas.
- Always fly below 120 meters from the ground and at a safe distance from others.
- Respect other people’s privacy and follow the GDPR rules when taking photos or videos of others,
