Do I have to take an exam to fly a drone?

To fly in open category, you are required to take the online course and exam at flydrone.no. You do not need to take the exam if your drone weighs less than 250 grams. 

The old exam for RO2/RO3 is noe valid to fly under the new European regulations. If you previously passed the RO2/RO3-exam, you still need to take the new exam to fly in open category. 

If you are going to fly as an aircraft manager or pilot for an operator in categories RO2 or RO3, you have to pass the exam for RO2/RO3.
