Additional exemption to Norwegian holders of aeromedical examiner (AME) certificate
In addition to the extension of validity of medical certificates and reports, CAA Norway has granted an exemption to Norwegian aeromedical examiners holding a valid AME-certificate, so that they may revalidate medical certificates for pilots and air traffic controllers based on verbal communication with the applicant, without the need for physical examinations. Certain conditions apply.
This exemption may be relevant for medical certificates that do not fall under the general extension of the validity of medical certificates. The revalidation has a limited validity up to 4 months from the expiry date. For other details on the terms and condition, see the decision of 19 March 2020.
